Irrigation in the 21st century

The discipline of Endodontics is in constant evolution and advancements.

In recent years, many irrigation tools and techniques have been introduced in order to help in obtaining a cleaner root canal system. However the clinician finds himself facing an array of choices without knowing what works best.

In this presentation, Dr. Chafic Safi will cover the following important aspects of irrigation :

1. The importance of irrigation in everyday Endodontics
2. The factors affecting delivery and desinfection of irrigation solution : Needle gauge, insertion depth, concentration, volume, time etc.
3. The various types of irrigation solutions and their role
4. The various types of irrigation adjuncts and their efficacy : Sonication (Endoactivator), ultrasonication ( Irrisafe), Negative pressure ( Endovac), MaxWire technology (XP-3D finisher) etc.

A variety of cases with clinical images and videos will be showed in order to better illustrate the various concepts.
