Prognosis: Favorable<\/li>\n<li>Extraction. Prognosis: Favorable<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-medium\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"fr\">Treatment Selection<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">The patient consented to a\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/root-canal-treatment\/\"><b>root canal treatment<\/b><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-medium\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"fr\">The treatment<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The procedure was completed in 2 visits with placement of Calcium Hydroxide as an intra-canal medicament.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During the first visit, a special anatomy was discovered: the presence of 2 palatal canals in the tooth.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\/en\/about\/\">This prompted us to take a 3D scan (CBCT)<\/a>, which luckily could be performed on site in our clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">CBCT snapshots revealed the presence of a C-shaped palatal system with 2 separate canals. Studies report the prevalence of such anatomy to be 0.4-1.3%.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-2 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin: auto;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t#gallery-2 .gallery-item sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/dt><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Treatment was completed 10 days later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The final irrigation protocol for both visits consisted of the following:\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">6% NaOCl followed by 17% EDTA which was then followed by 2% Chlorhexidine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">All 4 canals, Palatal 1, Palatal 2,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>Disto-Buccal,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>and Mesio-Buccal were instrumented using the <em>XP-3D Shaper<\/em> file and obturated using cold hydraulic <\/span><span class=\"s1\">condensation with <em>Bioceramic Sealer<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-ta tw-text-medium\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\"><span lang=\"fr\">Follow-up<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At 6-months follow-up,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>complete healing was observed on X-ray and on CBCT.
